What is a Golf Handicap?
A golf handicap is a numerical measure of a golfer's playing ability. It allows players of different skill levels to compete on an equal basis by adjusting their scores.
How it works: A player with a handicap of 15 can expect to shoot about 15 strokes over par on an average round. When competing, this handicap is subtracted from their gross score to produce a net score, allowing fair competition between players of different abilities.
