The problem
Most golf leagues don't use official USGA handicaps. They have their own systems—different minimum rounds, different scoring percentages, different maximum handicaps. And that's fine. It's how leagues have always worked.
The problem is that no software supports this. GolfGenius is great for running tournaments, but it doesn't calculate league-specific handicaps. Generic handicap software forces you into USGA rules. So league coordinators end up maintaining spreadsheets by hand.

Josh picked up a golf club for the first time in 2020 and went from a 35 handicap to low single digits through sheer dedication. That same work ethic carried into the pro shop — as a PGA Assistant Professional, he grew league participation by 547%, taking one program from 46 members to over 250.
But growth exposed a real problem. Hundreds of hours spent managing local handicaps across spreadsheets and disconnected tools with no clean solution in sight. After years of living that pain firsthand, Josh built League Handicap — purpose-built software born directly from the realities of day-to-day course life.
